2026 #23 – Ordinary Time: The Season of Growth (The Fullness of Time Series)

By Amy Peeler

I was curious to see how The Fullness of Time series would handle the longest season – the Season After Pentecost aka – Ordinary Time. Amy Peeler focuses on giving a good beginners guide to the season – its importance and history. Rather than focus on all of the readings the focus is on a few Feast Days and the longer story of Abraham, Sarah, Hagar, Isaac and Ishmael. What’s here is very good.

This is the one season that could have been multiple volumes. This is a good primer. What I enjoyed about the other books in the series is watching the various authors wrestle with the themes and readings of the season over all three lectionary cycles. The ones I enjoyed most had good explanations of both the season and how to preach/understand it. What’s here is very good. I just wish for more.
