by James S.A. Corey
Humanity has been conquered by a superior race who leaves part of the human “moiety” alive to serve with other conquered species. And humanity is not adapting well to being conquered; but the survivors continue. Plans are being formed in secret. The conqueror’s enemy is seen. Are other Moieties also considering how to overcome their conquerors?
The Expanse was the perfect balance of Hard Sci-Fi and good story. Here the story continues, and the Faith of Beasts suffers some second book slow down – exposition, introducing new characters and plot twists, and no ending in sight. This is balanced by the authors writing ability which is on full display. A very good second book, but you may need a cheat sheet to keep everyone straight.
