Sister Mary Helen is invited to be interviewed by a local TV station, as Tony Costa trial is about to begin. When local newswoman Christina Kelly eats a raisin cookie from a plate of holiday cookies – she dies from the poisoned cookie. But who would want to poison Christina? Is it her or someone else at the station who was the intended target? Along with Inspector Gallagher and the very pregnant Inspector Kate Murphy, Sister Mary Helen needs to figure out the mysteries, in case she is the one being stalked.
It’s interesting to read a mystery series where real life changes happen – Sister Mary Helen is almost unchanged, if older; but Inspector Kate Murphy was an unmarried woman in Book 1 and is exceedingly pregnant at the beginning of this one. The Inspector Felse series had time jumps where the kids grow up, but this one is several months after the end of Book 3. And what I love is that the people are the connective tissue – not some evil, big bad or a conspiracy. Fun, light mystery series.
