2026 #14 – Jesus and the Powers: Christian Political Witness in an Age of Totalitarian Terror and Dysfunctional Democracies

by N.T. Wright with Michael F. Bird

An updated version of the book, it discusses how the church should approach the topic of politics. This a 30,000 foot view version. It tries to bring clarity about how we hold our own beliefs, how we respect others beliefs, and how the church should approach involvement in the discussions of the day. Taking into account that the church has committed sins in the past by siding with power over the Gospel. And recognizing that in the moment, we sometimes make mistakes or are unsure of what is right.

This is a good and balanced look at how Christians and the church should approach politics at a high level. I wish that everyone should live up to these ideals going forward.
