Prairie Nightingale is a “professional homemaker” (her ex-husband is financing); with two teenage daughters and very few friends. She lost most of her “Mom Friends” because she is very good at pattern recognition and can’t let a question drop…. When one of those former friends dies Prairie begins to obsessively investigate and her carefully crafted home life begins to suffer – will Prairie find the killer?

I like mysteries that have either interesting characters or a really good plot. I did not find Prairie a compelling character (too much telling and not showing) and I stuck around to see the resolution… but it had a hard time keeping me motivated to finish. There were some interesting ideas, but they seemed either like wish fulfillment or not fully fleshed out. Not horrible, just not for me.
