Sheriff Walt Longmire is helping out his wife’s cousin…he’s the Postal Inspector for part of Wyoming. The letter carrier for the nation’s longest route (which is in Wyoming) has gone missing, and Walt is on the case. Did she leave on her own? Is foul play involved? Will Walt talk to his counterparts in the county he’s working in? Oh, and Cady is in line for a major promotion, will Walt be a help or a hindrance in his daughter’s career?

Still not working in Absaroka County (how much PTO does he have?) this is closer to classic Longmire – weird characters in the West doing weird and sometimes illegal things. There was less supernatural and more practical and Johnson’s writing is as good as ever. But I would have loved more of the old crew…..
