2026 #10 – The Missing Madonna (Sister Mary Helen #3)

By Carol Anne O’Marie

Sister Mary Helen is an OWL (Older Woman’s League) and after their convention fellow member Erma Duran goes missing. But her prize medal is still in her room, which leads her friends to think something is amiss. Can the formidable nun get the San Francisco police department to take her disappearance seriously? And will they be able to find her before something happens?

A good mystery, but it didn’t capture my imagination as much as the others. The main mystery ends in a bow, but wasn’t as logical as the previous ones (a bit Deus ex machina). The parallel story with Kate Murphy (who because of the lack of a murder, can’t be primary on this case) and her husband is also neatly wrapped up by the end.
