Peter Grant and (extended) family are on vacation…. or at least out of London. But they are out of London to try to catch a big cat. Can Peter, Bev, Nightingale, and Abigail find the cat? Or better yet, how it may have gotten there in the first place. And this leads the family, the foxes, and some new friends into a much more tangled web than they first expected….

This is almost a return to form for Aaronovitch. I say almost because while this is a more procedural, police story – it’s a two-hander between Peter and Abigail. This is not bad. Peter is at a different place than when we started, no longer the rookie and new practitioner. He is now experienced. Nightingale is talking about retirement. Abigail is an apprentice. Things change, hopefully the stories continue to be engaging.
