A Lenten devotional based in the Gospel of Mark, our church did it this Lenten season. The first three chapters cover – the nature of a gospel (good news), Mark’s focus on sharing secrets, and a chapter focusing on the passion. Each chapter has a series of questions. The last section of the book is a reading schedule that runs from Ash Wednesday to Easter week, with a weekly question for reflection.

The first chapter on the Good News of Mark, confused some of the lay people. It was typical Rowan Williams discussions and digressions and they couldn’t fully follow his line of thinking. The discussion of the material helped them. The other two chapters they enjoyed.
