And Abra had even more shine than Danny. But when young Abra finds herself in the crosshairs of a group that eats the shine of dying children; it will be up to Dan to mentor the youngster and learn about himself in the process.

A wonder set of character study – Dan Torrence and Abra for sure. Even Rosie the Hat and the True Knot get some interesting play. The problem is – I never felt like Abra was in real danger. When I read the Shining as an 9 year old – I felt Danny might not make it. Difference in age and perspective? Hard to say. But a good read.
