Master Cohmac and Reath are continuing their investigations into the nameless and the blight. Geode is continuing to investigate the issues with the Vessel. Its hard for me to go too far into the plot without either seeming repetitive of other books (its YA and the characters are all on individual, slow journeys) or giving away the results of the scientific inquiry Cohmac and Reath engage in.

It’s well written, and unlike YA books from my youth – named characters are in mortal peril (and also moral peril) and some continue to die. Harebrained schemes sometimes have real consequences. I enjoyed it.
