When an old spy comes up dead, only Jackson Lamb seems concerned. Investigating, he sends River Cartwright on a mission to look for answers. But these all seem to lead to Alexander Popov – a mysterious Soviet, that MI5 thinks is a scarecrow – an invention to scare others and receive blame. What then is going on? And will Spider’s sudden need of two Slow Horses, leave them short handed?

The basis of Season 2 of the TV series. It was good to get additional details about the new Horses. And to get more detail’s about the Cold War and the joes who served in Berlin – they are all not Jackson Lamb. A clever plot, but not as realistic seeming as the first one.
