A short jaunt through the games played throughout Britain. Most are regional games, a few are played more nationally. Pearson’s descriptions of the various sports are pretty light (I bought this in London, so he assumes that you have probably heard of most of them). But his stories of going to some of the locations, the people who play, and the various controversies are the fun. There are times where the side interests overwhelm the discussion of the actual games.
