The cats are back, along with their humans. This time our heroes (both human and feline) are sent on diplomatic mission, and ordered to not get into a duel. Yet they end end up in duels, and the superweapon is unfurled on the world.

While a lot of the themes are ones of love and honor, trust and betrayal, the cats tend to steal the show. New point of view characters help to fill it out the world. The Cinder Spires series takes its time, unlike the Dresden stories.
