*Note – June has been a very busy month professionally for me. I started this little sight, mostly for my own benefit – to be able record a little bit about each book I read – because of frustrations with goodreads and other websites. I am going to try to catch up – as I have read a lot on my kindle of late.

This book takes place towards the end of the television series chronology. Mal and company take a job moving cargo for the most important person on Kerry. Inara has a date with a client – his general. But what they find on Kerry is a more complicated situation. And the sealed cargo they carried – brings Mal and Zoe back to the war… will they take the money or help the people of Kerry?

This is a good read and its fun. My main complaint is that at the end it felt like Firefly/Serenity mad libs. Everything in the book felt derivative of other stories. This would have been a good season 5 story – hitting all of the familiar beats in a fun way.
