At the same time, Hrathen arrives in Kae, who has come to convert the country to the religion of the Fjordell. But how does Raoden’s fate, and the battle of wills that develop between Sarene and Hrathen intertwine with each other?

Excellent interplay between the political and religious dimensions of multiple countries and their customs. The three major characters all show growth, have interesting interior lives, and make honest mistakes. Very good book.
