On the Outer Rim worlds of Eiram and E’ronoh a war has been taking place for many years. Being in the same system, the planets are opposite in ecology. On a mission of mercy, some Jedi find themselves in the middle of tense situation… and then the heirs to the thrones meet each other. And will the arrival of one of the co-chancellors of the Republic and then the the son of the other co-chancellor, and Jedi Knight Gella are all their – along with hard liner from both planets wary of peace. But there is also presence lurking in the shadows, working for their own ends….

Will peace become a reality? Who is pulling the strings and causing chaos? This is the next phase of the High Republic, it takes place 150 years or so before the events at Starlight Beacon. The Jedi are moving across the galaxy, more involved in the peacekeeping and exploration.

The Disney era books are well written, and they seem to have an overarching theme of tracking the rise of the Nihil and the Jedi’s almost blindness to their work. Its interesting, but it hasn’t grabbed me so far as a narrative arc.
