By: Bill James and Others
I bought this for 4 reasons – 1. Bill James 2. Rob Neyer 3. Joe Posnanski 4. All of the statistics and information.
Honesty here – I read all of the essays and explanations and skimmed the in-depth statistics (for instance from page 186 to 447 is the Career Register – statistics for every player who played in 2022; and there’s more….). The essays by Neyer and Posnanski are the highlights for me (here’s to more Rob Neyer writing). Bill James’ essays and explanations are as interesting as ever.
If you love the correlations between baseball and statistics – this is the book for you. If you think that “sabermetrics” are ruining the game – just stay away.
