Herbert Terrell, Chief of Security at a semi-secret research facility, is killed in the mountains of Czechoslovakia – its ruled an accident by the authorities. But not everyone agrees with that assessment. And Dom Felse’s new friend Tossa is the step-daughter of Terrell. But this is 1960’s and the Cold War makes everyone suspicious of everything going on. When Dom, Tossa, and their friends end up in the mountains of Czechoslovakia – will they find an accidental death or something more complicated?

Dom is growing up. Now in college, he makes a more interesting investigator. Like a lot of Cadfael, we are now starting to spend more time away from the Felses and exploring the mystery outside the old homestead. After the first one, these have turned into breezy, mystery novels.
