What if – in the late 80’s a NATO/Warsaw Pact war took place? This has been played out in a number of books – Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy being one. Harold Coyle’s story of World War III follows Team Yankee – an armored element. Unlike Clancy, this war does have an exchange of both chemical and nuclear weapons – all on a small scale. Coyle spent 14 years in the US Army, and the book was originally published in 1988, so its an interesting bit of speculative fiction.

Well written, if you enjoy Company level military stories, give this one a try. It had been suggested to me a few times and I wish I would have read it earlier.
