This was was a Christmas 2020 present and stayed at the end of my books to read pile for a long time. Why? I had mixed feelings about the first volume – these are short story collections about the movies, often focused on background or side characters. The first one had several famous fans contribute stories along with authors. The results were mixed (in fairness, I feel this way about most anthologies or collections) and I had no enthusiasm for this volume.
This was better. It had not stories I hated. A few that I genuinely enjoyed. We get a story about Wedge and Red/Rogue squadron. We get L3-37 and company as the Falcon’s navi computer. We also get stories about tauntauns, wampas, and a xenobiologist who loves them (one story about each). Imperials, rebels, Willrow Hood, and more. Many of these were covered in what is now “Legends”. Some of these are better than the previous iterations.
