2022 #51 – Star Wars: Shadow of the Sith

By Adam Christopher

Set about two decades after Return of the Jedi, Shadow of the Sith is interested in questions like – How did Rey end up on Jakku? What were Luke and Lor San Tekka up to? Lando? This book looks at Luke’s deep unease in the force, Rey’s parents, and the hunt for possible Sith and the planet Exegol.

Like all of the Disney Star Wars books it is well written, it moves the story forward, and its depictions of the core antagonists – feels different from their portrayal in previous stories. Not bad, just different. My main complaint is that this book should have been released right before or right after The Rise of Skywalker. Read it if you want to know more about the Sequel universe or the current canon.
