Imagine if genetic breeding created two nearly perfect specimens. One for design and engineering the other in security. Now, imagine that you combined their genetics make a child…in a dystopian future where everything is tightly controlled. Now imagine a mistake is made when the designer carries the child to birth and the security expert is tasked with protecting them. Rather then give the child up to enter the corporate world another decision is made….
This was an average book – some interesting ideas under a layer of unbeatable heroes who have a love/hate banter inducing relationship, average writing, and a plot that picks up in the second half. I’ve had this book on Kindle since 2016 (it was free, so I assume it was a First Read), and am just getting around to read it…and its the beginning of a series. One that I will not be continuing.
