This trilogy is YA and explores the friendships and loyalty amongst the senator and her retainers. There are secrets they keep from each other. Missions and work to do. Love and marriage.

It is an interesting look into the lives and responsibilities that they have and explains what she was dong to make the galaxy a better place. Johnston is a good writer and I enjoyed these books more than I thought I would.
