I wish I would have read The Glass Hotel before I read Sea of Tranquility. Not that it would have made a large difference, but this is a book about reality, counterfactuals, and regret. Characters who appear in the other books are here (Station Eleven and Sea of Tranquility specifically) in an alternate reality. The background would have helped me better understand the Sea of Tranquility characters betters. I love her writing. This one meanders a bit more than Sea of Tranquility. And the characters were not as likeable or interesting as in some other of her novels. I still liked it a lot, just as not as much as the two books it references.
