This is a weird, wild book. It was on a Kindle book sale for Amazon and needing a funnier book to read took a chance. Having enjoyed other Christopher Moore books (Fool, The Serpent of Venice, Noir) I thought I’d be in for a wild ride. And it was – take a drunken, disgraced pilot, his transgender navigator (and his talking fruit bat pet), a cannibal, a cargo cult, and a former Methodist medical missionary and his wife. Throw in a makeup magnate and a organ harvesting ring – it was amusing, weird, and when I was done I had laughed – but also felt like I needed a shower.
