By J. Chester Johnson
A short tome that is one part stories about the author’s interactions and opinions on later period of the poet W. H. Auden, one part discussion of the author and his time working on the committee that translated the Psalms for the Episcopal Church in the 1960s-1970s, and one part discussion of said committees translation methodology. It bounced between the subjects in such a manner as to keep my attention throughout. It also left me wanting more – especially either more Auden stories or more translation discussion.
