2021 #35 – Skywalker: A Family at War (Target Edition)

By: Kristin Baver

This is a summation of the Skywalker family, covering the three trilogies along with the now current canon (comics, books, and TV shows).  Its well written –  in a popular history sort of way. I bought the special edition from Target, that comes with three extra essays, on: the Droids, Han and Luke, and Luke and Leia.

I am not sure what the purpose of the book is, or who the audience is supposed to be?  Uber SW geeks will already know all of this.  And even nominal fans will find it hard to justify.  I will admit that by combining the Sequel Trilogy errata – it helps flesh out Kylo/Ben as a character and help to understand his actions in the movies.  But that is a screenwriting problem.

If you’ve never seen or read Star Wars materials and would like a spoiler filled introduction – this is the book for you.
